Custom software development means building software from scratch for one organisation's own processes. Not every need calls for custom software. If you need standard accounting, e-mail or file sharing, an off-the-shelf product is faster and cheaper — we say so plainly. Custom development becomes worthwhile in three situations:
Role-based portals for a dealer network, a customer base or a workforce. This is our deepest area of experience: the Bosch Customer Portal unites six separate process systems on a single dealer platform, and the Schaeffler Customer Portal manages dealer processes for technical products.
On the corporate website and e-commerce side, bilingual content management, category depth and attribute-based product search are our baseline expectations.
We develop native and cross-platform applications for iOS and Android. Mobile is rarely a standalone job here — it is usually the field-facing surface of a larger system: the three systems we built for Vodafone manage the device lifecycle end to end.
We also work on consumer-facing products; AktifLig and Bestup are two examples, and our role in each was different.
We treat software and hardware as one problem. We built the IoT infrastructure for Bosch R&D's TruckDefender and Smarthook safety devices; our own product ProdIoT is a KOSGEB-backed multi-platform productisation infrastructure.
The typical job here is to collect data from a device, make sense of it, and carry it into an interface where a manager can act on it.
Our solutions integrate with your existing systems over REST APIs and webhooks. In practice a substantial share of projects is exactly this: not writing a new screen, but making systems that ignore each other talk. Automating the 8D, warranty and campaign processes in Bosch technical service and factory software was work of that kind.
